Esperanto is a story by Lucas Derycke that was originally performed as a theatre piece for Het nieuwstedelijk. A year later Lucas produced a German radio version together with the WDR. I created the soundtrack for both versions. It shows you life in a refugee camp through the eyes of two volunteers, Hannah and Jasmin, and introduces you to a colourful German who speaks Esperanto. Vocal loops, soundscapes, instrumental scores and pop songs were created in order to provide Esperanto with a varying musical palette.
You can listen to Esperanto in it’s entirety on the WDR’s website.
